The new board is super dead. About 1-2 posts per day? I'm not sure what the old averages were but would guess 30-40 posts per day.

What kind of things can we do to promote the site and let people know it is back up and running?

Honestly, I think the new layout is a bit dull and sterile. There's no character anymore and the posts should be featured at the top instead of having to scroll down so much.
I know this isn't the only reason why people aren't posting anymore but it is partly for me.

wouldn't it be awesome if everyone had gone out and gotten lives?
learned to play instruments?
started new bands?
purchased skateboards or basketballs or bicycles or books or something?

but seriously,
i agree that (one of) the problem(s) [if it's really a problem] might lie in new/lower visibility of the forums.

maybe they don't belong quite at the top of the page or anything,
but since it's still kind of tour booking season,
lots of shows are being posted and lots of bands are posting "looking for show" posts,
so maybe instead of the 5 most recent topics,
it might spur on discussion(s) if the 10 most recent or so showed up?

just an idea...
anyway:

Maybe people are still upset that they kept getting excited for a launch date that seemed to never happen.

DFM I don't really understand. Seems hard to hate on 306 when it's function is to organize people who are learning to play instruments.

but my joke was born of the fact that:
high levels of digital activity can't help but decrease analog ones.

but a joke,
as i enjoy spending a lot of time online myself,
and using the internet to organize my real life as well.

It seems difficult to get to the actual board.

In all honesty, I prefer a single one page forum without articles or frills and etc (ie. QCP forum in Regina..)

I can punch some of this checklist off :

started new bands *
purchased basketballs * (well a basketball)
or bicycles * (well i have been biking every day)
or books * (Burn Collector!)

The internet is not summer time fun(unless it's being used for online chess), drinking by the river is.

Im busy with other music forums.


Another reason could be lack of interesting posts to talk about.
Facebook is also now the way for show promotion it seems rather then forums.

Plus most people probably don't know it is back.
