July 26- This SAT! Carvan Funk and Reggae festival 5 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 0

The very best in funk and reggae for one day, all day, and all night. Caravan brings you 10 hours of music live in the
volleyball courts across form Louis' and another 4 hour show at Amigo's to end the day of perfectly.

Artists include:

SOULJAH FYAH- www.souljahfyah.com (Edmonton)
Souljah Fyah is a wicked roots Reggae band out of Edmonton with rootical sound. Their music combines African percussion, sweet harmonies and heavy lines to produce their soulful sound. They draw inspiration from foundation artistes such as Bob Marley and Peter Tosh. Their self titled CD produced by Ibo has been tearing up the airwaves in St. Kitts, Nevis, St. Martin and Anguilla amongst other islands. The CD has been the featured album of the month in Amsterdam and Belgium and has been getting steady airplay all over. Front woman Sista J’s
single entitled “Feel Like Smiling” is featured on the soon to be released compilation CD by Smokey Room Productions. This CD will feature many other great Canadian Reggae artists, both male and female.

GRAND ANALOG - www.grandanalog.com (Winnipeg)
Grand Analog is unbalanced and dirty; never clean, Grand Analog is fuzzy with three coats of dust and reads like an old manual no longer in use. The music is a beautiful mess of rap’n’roll dub and soul; a hip-hop slop shop of times good and bad. Calligraffiti, the debut album, is now available in stores and online. Created in 2006, the Grand Analog Project is fronted by Odario Williams on vocals and percussion. Varying members include Ofiield Williams as DJ, Catalyst on keys, Damon Mitchellon guitar and Klavercamp on bass. The live show is a high voltage experience that
melts dub, soul and rock into the hip hop pot. Only in the live show do you get the off the wall tactics and in the recording you’ll get that good love.
